Science 9-11 seeks to develop resources for understanding the 9/11/01 attack
based on applying the
scientific method
to the available evidence.
Science 9-11 focuses on resolving questions about
how the attack was executed.
Questions about possible motives for the attack,
while useful and an essential part of a criminal investigation,
are beyond the scope of Science 9-11.
Science 9-11 recognizes that the available evidence may
allow the drawing of strong conclusions in some areas but not in others.
Science 9-11 will evaluate and document strength of bodies of evidence it uses,
with attention to chain of custody, redundancy,
and corroboration by other bodies of evidence.
Science 9-11 will document the process it uses to formulate hypotheses
and reach conclusions,
with the goal of making its analysis understandable to the layperson.
Despite the mistique of science,
its principles are straightforward and can be applied by almost anyone.
Science 9-11 will show how scientific reasoning,
while having limits,
supports conclusions about the attack
that are fundamentally incompatable with the official version of events.
